FIWNA Fortnightly Discussion Series 1 — CEDAW and Nepal's 7th Periodic Report

About This Activity

The first FIWNA Fortnightly Discussion Series focused on CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women) and Nepal's 7th Periodic Report concluding observations.

This discussion event hosted by FIWNA focused on CEDAW (Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women) and Nepal's seventh periodic report findings and observations.

CEDAW is an international treaty adopted in 1979 that defines discrimination against women and sets an agenda for national action to end such discrimination. Nepal's 7th Periodic Report outlines progress and challenges in implementing CEDAW commitments, with the Concluding Observations providing the UN Committee's assessment and recommendations.

This session was the first in FIWNA's Fortnightly Discussion Series, a regular biweekly program designed to educate and engage the community on international human rights frameworks as they apply to indigenous women in Nepal and the diaspora.
